Screw You, Backwoods!

I took my lunch break today to drive up to Backwoods and purchase another of those wonderful Ex Officio crossover bras that I have come to love and wore the entire 2.5 week Europe trip last winter. I've had mixed luck with that store in the past--shoddy/snobby customer service, high prices, blah blah blah, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt b/c we purchased our Osprey packs there, and they have been one of the best purchases ever. But after today's visit, I'm pretty much done with them. Not only did I get absolutely no help in a store that had only 1 customer in it, I didn't even get a hello or 'sup when I walked in. A guy stood behind the counter talking on the phone the entire time while another employee was fawning over a lady and the skirt she was trying on and how wonderful it looked, blah blah blah. Nice. And then of course they didn't have the color of the bra I wanted, and by that point I was so irritated that I didn't even seek out help; I just thought--"screw this--I'd rather pay extra shipping and handling and have it delivered to my door than to continue giving this company my money when they don't even seem to appreciate my business." So there you have it. Backwoods is dead to me. It's a shame too, because I love supporting local and/or small businesses in the city, but I refuse to do so when they don't even seem to want my business.

Amen Sister! There's a formal store (Serendipity) I refuse to walk into because of how they treated me the one time I went in there. Of course with Jim retired I don't need a formal every year any more but still...snotty twits every one, and I could have bought every dress in the place.
